I don't understand why, other than the cheap cost but It seems as though bathtub painting, which was first started in apartments and hotels has over taken the bathtub resurfacing Industry. Bathtub painting is completed using acrylic urethane paint for the most part. This is the very nasty smelling coatings that release isocyanates and high V.O.C. vapors into your home, some use standard epoxy paint but a huge percentage use acrylic urethane or Aliphatic acrylic urethane. Urethane paint is very toxic, its water resistant - not water proof, It's easy to apply and a professional can make it look very close to perfect. The issue is ... It will peel, it's a harsh soup of toxic chemicals that I have personally heard clients explain how even after months of use, whith hot water they can smell the paint. We question why cancers and childhood diseases are on the rise. Then, we look at everything from what we eat to how we bathe. We must stop poisoning ourselves for the sake of the cheapest price we can get. I understand apartments and hotels that need a quick fix and they want it to last 6 months to a year and it needs to be completed as cheap as possible. I am asking at what cost though? Also, in residential homes and the customer doesn't know the difference is not the place for it. I am offering a permanent surface, a new surface that is integrated into the old surface, not painted on top of the old surface. Customers say it looks brand new! The great news is it will look great and it has a 6 year no fade, no peel warranty! From a business that has been in business since 1992. Free Exact quotes by text or email. I am not well liked by my peers, That is okay. Scripture says for the LOVE of money is the root to all evil. I can't love money more than a fellow human being, more than "going with the flow". Making a project look great, with paint that is reduced with extremely nasty thinners is not extremely hard to do. Making a surface look very good and last with daily use with the correct glaze is much more difficult. I think I answered my own question of why Bathtub painting has overtaken the skill of bathtub surface restoration. Please see my video gallery and pictures of my work below.

High tensile strength means the new porcelain glaze surface can handle pressure or weight. This is why it is so important to have a surface that is integrated into the old surface so it becomes the surface. It has to be usable. The picture below shows a failed epoxy surface after a few weeks.
